Who is Sentinel Business IT intended for?

Sentinel Business IT is designed for any small business that has a server, but lacks the skill, time or finance to keep it safe and working at full capacity.

We have existing IT support. What does Sentinel Business IT add? 

Sentinel Business IT catches problems early, this is combined with immediate alerts so that  problems can be fixed before they can cause your server to crash. Immediate alerts to your existing IT support let them fix the problems as they arise, not after your server has crashed.

How does Sentinel Business IT monitoring work?

A small piece of software on your server sends information to our central database over a secured internet connection. Our server specialists constantly monitor this database for problems.

How often does Sentinel Business IT check my server and what does it check?

15 Minute Check

Every 15 minutes it takes a snapshot of your server’s vital functions, if your website can be seen by your customers, if you can send and receive your email, and if you have a remote office, whether the links are available.

Daily Check

At 6am every morning, Sentinel Business IT will also check if last nights backup was successful, whether your antivirus is up to date, failed login attempts which could indicate a hacking attempt and shows if your server hard disc is getting full.

Who gets to know when something has gone wrong?

Whoever you want to know, by email, text or both., within 15 minutes of a fault occurring.

How often does Sentinel Business IT report to me?

Sentinel Business IT checks your server every 15 minutes and alerts are sent out when it detects a problem. In addition, Sentinel Business IT will email you an easy to read report of the daily checks.  This can also be sent to any number of recipients.

Can Sentinel Business IT solve problems when they occur?

Yes. We can offer either pay as you go support (charged at £12.50 per 15 minutes for remote support) or choose either the Silver or Gold packages which include support, plus additional important housekeeping services. Click here to see what we can offer.

Does Sentinel Business IT need remote access to my server?

If you want Sentinel Business IT to fix your server’s problems then yes, we do need secure remote access. If you just want Sentinel Business IT to check and alert, then no we don’t.

How does Sentinel Business IT access my server?

Is Sentinel Business IT Secure?

Yes, it is secure. Sentinel Business IT have always taken comprehensive steps to ensure our clients security.

Do I need to download software to my server?

Yes. A small piece of software needs to be installed on your server. This is easy to download, install and setup, with wizards guiding you through the various checks available.
